When choosing noise cancelling headphones you must consider the performance itself, the design and the battery life.
Performance
When looking for great noise cancelling headphones you should first the noise isolation ratings. Noise isolation can be measured in the overall attenuation which is measured in decibels (db). Where a good noise isolation rating will have between -25db to -40db of overall attenuation. This is sufficient to block out most background sounds especially when traveling on bus, train, plane and more.
Design
With the design it is better to go with the over ear design since it typically has better noise isolation than that of the in ear design. If you prefer a lighter design, you can choose the in ear since they can offer great noise isolation depending on the model. However, bear in mind that some in ear designs are not suitable for some ear sizes but do offer a great quality experience when fitted comfortably.
Battery Life
Having sufficient battery life is important with all electronic devices and with no exception your noise cancelling headphones. These should be able to last you at least 8 hours throughout the day with full charge. However, if you’re accustomed to traveling while using your headphones for longer periods of time you may want it to last about 12 hours plus.
